We’re very pleased to have three Wickwar pubs as official Bristol Beer Week venues this year. The Gloucester Road Ale House and Kitchen, like The Punchbowl, highlights the local brewery’s ethos of taking historical, somewhat run down pubs and transforming them into modern venues that retain the classic features that made them great places to drink good beer.

The Gloucester Road Ale House and Kitchen will be showcasing their foodie credentials with a food and beer matched menu available all week. They will have flights of beer for the special price of £2.70, so you’ll be able to get a good feel for what the pub is about and they’ll be hosting a quiz on the first Sunday from 7pm, which will include a special beer based round and beery prizes

Here’s some more information about The Gloucester Road Ale House and Kitchen:

Located in the heart of the eclectic Gloucester Road community this pub was re-launched in February 2016 after extensive refurbishment by Wickwar. Previously named The Foresters the transformation has retained the welcoming intimacy and character of the original building whilst introducing a contemporary twist to the enhanced two floor trading area.

The Gloucester Road Ale House & Kitchen is an ale and craft beer pub with, as our name suggests, the added attraction of an enticing and diverse food offer. The atmosphere is relaxed with vintage silent films by day and candlelit tables with tasteful background music by night.

We offer real choice across our range of ales, ciders and lagers with changes on a regular basis. Alongside local Wickwar Wessex Brewery’s popular and award winning ales, such as BOB, Falling Star and Cotswold Way, there are several rotating guest ales. All of our perfectly cask conditioned ales are priced at £2.70 all day, every day!

Food is important to us and we source from award winning local suppliers such as The Bread Store & T Murray’s butcher both located on The Gloucester Road. We demand fresh, local, seasonal produce where available and whilst our menu changes daily to reflect this you will generally find classics such as Sausage & Champ, handmade burgers and colourful salads.
