Vince Crocker, owner and brewer at Ashley Down Brewery, has always been a great supporter of Bristol Beer Week, so we’re very pleased that his pub, which he runs with co-owner Garvan Hickey, is an official BBW17 venue. They will be running an Autumn Beer Festival, featuring over 20 beers; the majority of which will be from Bristol and other local (Somerset, Wiltshire & Gloucestershire) breweries.

The Drapers was Bristol’s first micropub, the official definition of which is “...a small freehouse which listens to its customers, mainly serves cask ales, promotes conversation, shuns all forms of electronic entertainment and dabbles in traditional pub snacks". Here’s a bit more from the owners:

The Drapers Arms is an independent ale house – and we hope we're providing a relaxed and sociable atmosphere, in a one room venue with a capacity for about 40 customers, to enjoy a couple of beers and a bit of chat.

Without a juke box, fruit machines, WiFi or television, we hope it will feel like you're just sitting in a good, old fashioned, traditional pub and, with conversation with other punters as the only form of entertainment, you'll also actually enjoy it.
