Bristol Beer Week 2017; five years strong

We’re pleased to announce that the fifth annual Bristol Beer Week will take place from Saturday 14 October to Saturday 21 October 2017, with a rest day on the Monday; so it is actually a week this year.

Regular attendees will notice that the week falls a bit later this year. This is largely because September is pretty full of big national beer events. Because Bristol has such awesome breweries, many of them will attend these events, so we wanted to have the best chance of everyone being available to give the best representation of what is happening in the Bristol beer scene.

In particular, you will notice that we’re not aligning with the Bristol Craft Beer Festival this year (it’s at Motion again, on 15-17 September). We loved teaming up with the guys last year, and we thought it was a really good partnership. However, the Beavertown Extravaganza event takes place in London on the weekend before and we couldn’t risk clashing with such a monumentally large beer event.

Anyway, enough about the timing; it will be a little bit colder, a little bit darker, but hopefully a nice way to slip into autumn, and should put a slightly different angle on the beers we drink during the week.

Last year we put a real focus on the venues around the city that we think do their best to represent Bristol’s burgeoning beer scene. This year, we’ll be doing the same with the breweries and putting together a really great package of special beers that will be released throughout the week. More details of this will follow in due course, but it will definitely be a new and exciting element of the week.

We will also have a central hub throughout the week, where you’ll be able to come along and have a chat, buy some nice stuff, have a beer (hopefully) and find out what’s happening nearby. We hope this will also be an exciting addition to the week.

So there it is, Bristol Beer Week 2017. Number 5. We hope you’re looking forward to it as much as we are.
