Small Bar have always been strongly committed to the promotion of sour beer and their two day festival will feature some of the UK's best, and the good stuff from further afield.
We've always been a huge fan of sour beers at Small Bar. When we opened the bar almost three years ago we were committed to having a keg sour beer pouring at all times, but such was the demand that sours were quickly given two of our keg lines. We've continued to pour two sours at all times as well as having a large portion of our bottle menu committed to the best sour beers we can get our hands on.
Sour beer in the UK has progressed leaps and bounds in that time and we're extremely lucky in Bristol to have the Wild Beer Co, the leading producers of sour beer in the UK just down the road. Also a regular on our sour boards are Chorlton, who have burst onto the scene with their German inspired sours and brettanomyces fermented beers.
On Sunday 28th and Monday 29th August we will be giving over a huge chunk of our beer boards to sour beers from the UK and beyond, including some one offs we have never seen in Bristol before. We're lucky enough to be joined by Stuart from Wild Beer and Mike from Chorlton for some Q&A's session on the Sunday as well.
Stuart will talk us through barrel-aged sours at 3pm and Mike will be chatting about Berliner Weisse from 4pm.
Come along, drink some sour beer and get some inside knowledge from the experts!
